BenQ to Shut Down Beijing R&D Center

Taiwanese BenQ recently announced that it has set to close its mobile phone R&D center in Beijing, China, and lay off 400 R&D personnel in Beijing, Shanghai, and Suzhou by the end of 2006. Mobile phone R&D activities will be handled by BenQ's facilities in Suzhou and Taiwan in the future.
